Dr. Frankenstien and . . . monsters, you guessed it.

Bri, I think that's a brilliant idea to revamp the whole book club idea! Hooray! I am definitely going to start on City of Bones in like one-two books. It sounds great! I, too, love the teen books. Just finished reading two series. One I started recently, the other two years ago.

The first one I finished was The Wizard Heir series from the teen section. My Dad actually got me started on it. It has awesome nerdy Sci-Fi wizard battles and sweet high school romances (that we all miss deep down on some level. Admit it. That's why you guiltily enjoyed every bit of the Twilight series).

The other series I just finished reading was Dean Koontz's Frankenstein trilogy. Monsters, clones, trolls and insects = awesome turn-your-mind-off entertainment! My brother and I have been waiting for it for a couple of years! I don't know about everyone else but sometimes I just really need a break from analyzing brilliant novels. Koontz fulfills that need for me. He writes books that are so bizarre and creative that you can't even begin to analyze it. Such a relief!

Koontz is bizarre, I'm not putting that lightly. Just a fair warning but definitely worth it.

I can't help it . . . I'm a sucker for any kind of Sci-Fi.

New Year, New Blog

Let's change things up a bit. This little experiment did not go exactly according to plan. That's OK. We change, we adapt, we admit to our failings.

I'm thinking that instead we should post what we are currently reading. Gives some insights into what you are enjoying. Give a little review. Then move on to the next book. I think this could be good. The whole point of the blog was to be introduced to new topics. I think this will be an excellent way to get that point across. So, Friends, what are you reading these days?

Here's what I just finished:

The Mortal Instruments Trilogy

Yes, another book from the teen section. Not sure what my deal is, but I keep finding myself in that section. We could ask why, but lets not analyze this. Let's just move on. I really enjoyed the whole set of books. I love when an author can create another world, and make it believable. Obviously, I don't really think that there are a league of Shadowhunters that are out there ridding the world of demons. It's just that she was able to really create that world for me. I could very easily picture it in my own mind. Love that!

It had all the good stuff; romance, fighting, gross nasty demons, vampires, werewolves, is he my brother/isn't he my brother(this was a big one: big question of was the main character having THOSE kind of fantasy's about her brother), evil dude out to destroy the world....you get the idea.

So, that's what I just finished reading. How about you? Got anything interesting, boring, a little bit of both, awesome, fascinating, or even just OK, that you would like to suggest. Let's hear it!

Have any of you read that book Skinny Bitch?

Would you ever become a vegetarian? I am feeling very guilty for eating meat and I hoping someone can talk me off the vegetable ledge....
I'm headed to Chick-Fil-A for now though.
